Although the 7th edition of "Les Épicures de l'Épicerie fine" could not be organized due to the sanitary measures in force, the famous prize was maintained. On October 19, 2020, the jury for the Prize Épicures, made up of experts from the gastronomy sector (fine grocers, chefs and journalists) met behind closed doors at the Hotel Fauchon in Paris.

About a hundred products in various categories were in competition to achieve this real recognition. The Belgian manufacturer Millésime Chocolat was awarded the Epicures Silver Prize in the "Chocolates" category with its "GUATEMALA - 2019 - Milk 50% - Nougatine Nibs Cocoa" bar.

"Even though we are facing difficult times, today we are moved and proud to have won this award. This is real recognition for the entire team, which strives every day to make Millésime Chocolat a brand and products of excellence. ", underlines Jean-Christophe Hubert, founder of Millésime Chocolat.

The GUATEMALA - 2019, Milk 50% - Nougatine Nibs Cocoa bar : this exceptional cocoa is harvested by local Q’eqchi Maya farmers in the heart of the regions of Cahabon and Lachuá. Coming from ancient Mayacocoa plantations, the chocolate reveals very delicate aromas of flowers, but also of fruits such as plum and apricot. The tasting is rounded off by a touch of caramel. This natural caramel flavor is enhanced by a unique filling combining the nougatine technique with cocoa nibs as dry fruit. This is the cocoa nib, roasted for 25 minutes at 125°. This pastry filling makes it possible to deliver chocolate with mixed milky flavors and raw cocoa.
